Lindsey Graham Destroys Holder On Reading Osama Bin Laden Miranda Rights

If you want to understand one of the reasons why AG Holder’s decision to try Khalid Sheik Mohammed in civilian court is reckless and irresponsible, watch Senator Lindsey Graham destroy Attorney General Eric Holder’s arguments on Miranda rights on Osama bin Laden. Graham is dead-on target; Holder is evasive, has only weak excuses, and is unable to offer a coherent rationale for his decision. Clearly, the more closely the Obama administration’s decision is examined, the worse it looks.

Flash: Obama in favor of free speech

That applies to China – not here in the U.S.
Barack Obama, our hypocrite-in-Chief, speaking to Chinese students in Shanghai:
“I think that the more freely information flows, the stronger the society becomes, because then citizens of countries around the world can hold their own governments accountable.”“I’m a big supporter of non-censorship,” Obama said. “I recognize that different countries have different traditions. I can tell you that in the United States, the fact that we have free Internet – or unrestricted Internet access is a source of strength, and I think should be encouraged.”
But NewsBusters is having none of it, and goes into the extent of Obama’s hypocrisy for readers that may be unaware of the state of free speech in America under the Obama regime.

I share the feeling of the Washington, D.C.-based Democrat lawyer who’s held counsel positions both in the Senate and in previous presidential administrations, who is surprised at the fact that not only does the press seems to be ignoring the fact that two presidential lawyers have left at about the same time, but that no one seems to care that for the first time, I think ever, we have a President’s personal attorney also serving as White House counsel.
Like “The Prowler,” I would think that others would also see a certain “ugliness” about the current goings-on in the Executive Office of the President.

See the picture, but don’t leave without reading the article:
Somehow, somewhere along the way we must have fallen through some trap door into an alternate Evil-Spock-With-A-Beard universe because there is no way that any rational human being can possibly, really believe what our politicians and their shuffling, head bobbing Igor media are telling us. Not only that, for the life of me I can’t begin to imagine that they believe it themselves, but they seem quite sincere.

Our “Ditherer-in-Chief” continuing to do little more than “vote present” in making a final decision on Afghanistan is complicating the Afghan campaign and significantly affecting our war effort. It seems our inexperienced, unprepared-for-office, president fails to understand that there is a cost of dithering:
General Stanley McChrystal’s assessment and force-requirement studies were largely complete by the beginning of August. The White House has stated that the president will not be announcing a decision until the end of November at the earliest. White House officials claim that the delay does not affect the movement of U.S. forces or our prospects for military success next year. These claims are inaccurate. The delay in White House decision-making is protracting and complicating the campaign in Afghanistan and has reduced General McChrystal’s ability to prepare for and conduct decisive operations next year.
As The Patriot Room aptly notes, the consequences are that whenever this community organizer gets around to making a war decision, everything will start from scratch. Three plus months to decide, more months to deploy … will it be the same war when they arrive for which the assessment was written?
The answer, of course, is that the situation on the ground has been changing daily – for the worse since prior to September, and our Ditherer-in-Chiefs delay in sending the needed troops is making things worse as we speak. Remember, McChrystal said then that “Resources will not win this war, but under-resourcing could lose it.” He also said that timeliness was paramount. Barack Obama needs to grow a set and make the damned decision to give McChrystal the troops he needs while there’s still an opportunity to win this component in the “War on Terror.”

As American Princess points out, our President will not be joining the heads of state and celebrity freedom-fighters at the Brandenburg Gate. He’s like, busy or something:
[...] Instead, when it comes to celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the triumph of freedom and western civilization over the backwards, oppressive Communist regime, the nation that serves as a beacon of freedom to the world and the inspiration for the people challenging the USSR will be represented by David Hasselhoff.
A case of misplaced priorities (no time for a decision on Afghanistan either)? He sure found time to fly to Copenhagen on an “emergency trip” to pitch Chicago’s Olympic bid.
As Pamella Geller notes: “He went to a meeting of the Organization of the Islamic Conference Alliance of Civilizations (instead the graves of the glorious dead onthe anniversary of Normandy), toured Turkey’s mosques, bowed to the wahhabi Saudi king, coasted to Copenhagen to whore for his cronies in Chicago (Olympics) but he can’t go to Germany for this stunning historical triumph of free men.”
Yep, he’s just too busy, or something.

November 8, 2009 by Hyscience

Why is it that we have to find truths about the Muslim killer of our soldiers at Fort Hood – from UK media? After all, shouldn’t our own media be telling us that Major Nidal Malik Hasan, the gunman who killed 13 at America’s Fort Hood military base, once gave a lecture to other doctors in which he said non-believers should be beheaded and have boiling oil poured down their throats?
Via The Telegraph.co.uk:
[...] He also told colleagues at America’s top military hospital that non-Muslims were infidels condemned to hell who should be set on fire. The outburst came during an hour-long talk Hasan, an Army psychiatrist, gave on the Koran in front of dozens of other doctors at Walter Reed Army Medical Centre in Washington DC, where he worked for six years before arriving at Fort Hood in July.Colleagues had expected a discussion on a medical issue but were instead given an extremist interpretation of the Koran, which Hasan appeared to believe.
It was the latest in a series of “red flags” about his state of mind that have emerged since the massacre at Fort Hood, America’s largest military installation, on Thursday.
[...] Fellow doctors have recounted how they were repeatedly harangued by Hasan about religion and that he openly claimed to be a “Muslim first and American second.”
One Army doctor who knew him said a fear of appearing discriminatory against a Muslim soldier had stopped fellow officers from filing formal complaints.
Another, Dr Val Finnell, who took a course with him in 2007 at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Maryland, did complain about Hasan’s “anti-American rants.” He said: “The system is not doing what it’s supposed to do. He at least should have been confronted about these beliefs, told to cease and desist, and to shape up or ship out. I really questioned his loyalty.”
Selena Coppa, an activist for Iraq Veterans Against the War, said: “This man was a psychiatrist and was working with other psychiatrists every day and they failed to notice how deeply disturbed someone right in their midst was.”
One of Hasan’s neighbours described how on the day of the massacre, about 9am, he gave her a Koran and told her: “I’m going to do good work for God” before leaving for the base.
Meanwhile, reports by the U.S. media focus on reports that have to do with warnings about “backlash” against all Muslims in the military.
Via the AP:
[...] Gen. George Casey warns against reaching conclusions about motives until investigators have fully explored the attack. Early reports suggest Hasan, a Muslim, was angry about the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq and worried about his pending deployment to Afghanistan.Casey says focusing on Hasan’s Islamic roots could “heighten the backlash” against all Muslims in the military.
However, as Sen. Joseph Lieberman told Fox News Sunday, it’s clear that Hasan was, one, under personal stress and, two, if the reports that we’re receiving of various statements he made, acts he took, are valid, he had turned to Islamist extremism:
[...] Lieberman said if the shootings were fueled by such viewpoints it was the worst act of terrorism in America since the attacks of September 11, 2001.“Therefore, if that is true, the murder of these 13 people was a terrorist act and, in fact, it was the most destructive terrorist act to be committed on American soil since 9/11.”
And I would think that most rational Americans would believe that when an American military officer turns out to be an Islamist extremist that is “the worst act of terrorism in America since the attacks of September 11, 2001,” it’s time for some form of focused “backlash” to begin in earnest, and a very hard look be taken at the U.S. military’s approach of bringing Muslims into the U.S. military (and the U.S. in general).

November 7, 2009 by Hyscience

The “difficult issues” Yochi J. Dreazen’s article addresses invites troubling questions.
Dreazen writes:
[...] The deadly rampage at Fort Hood is forcing Pentagon officials to confront difficult questions about the military’s growing Muslim population. The military has worked hard to recruit more Muslims since the start of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the number of Muslim troops, while still small, has been increasing. There were 3,409 Muslims in the active-duty military as of April 2008, according to Pentagon statistics.
Military personnel don’t have to disclose their religions, and many officials believe the actual number of Muslim soldiers may be at least 10,000 higher than the Pentagon statistics. For instance, the military “Officer Record Brief” of Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, the suspect in the Fort Hood shootings, said he had “no religious preference” and didn’t identify him as a Muslim.
[...] The push to boost Muslim representation has proven to be a double-edged sword for the military, which desperately needs the Muslim soldiers for their language skills and cultural knowledge, but also worries that a small percentage of those soldiers might harbor extremist ideologies or choose to turn their guns on their fellow soldiers.
Why, when we are unquestionably in a war against radical Islam (in spite of Obama’s naivite or choosing to ignore it – or his own loyalty to Islam) hasn’t the military addressed the “troubling” issue of having Muslims in the military, knowing that Muslims have a propensity – essentially an obligation under Islamic law – to support fellow Muslims and the ummah (… they must love and be loyal only to Muslims for the sake of Allaah) before and in place of their country? Why has the military allowed the Muslim population to grow to such a high number? And as far as “only” a “tiny number of extremists” being a potential problem, how in the hell do you tell the difference between one of those “extremists” and one that is not?
