- So this C-List radio personality Bill Cunningham, asked to “warm up” the crowd for a McCain rally in Ohio, calls Obama a “hack” and stresses his middle name “Hussein”. And that’s supposed to be bad? Then, McCain, rather than say “that was silly and it’s not the way I do things”, goes out of the way to give conservatives a big “f’ you” with a big apology and a Sister Souljah moment against a guy who had turned out to help him in a key swing state.
Really, what Cunningham said was tame. Perhaps I’ve been conditioned by Ann Coulter and her more noxious ilk to expect a lot worse, but really, calling Obama a “hack” and using his middle name is suddenly beyond the pale? No matter how noxious Cunningham might be on his radio show (and I’m sure he’s terrible), what was said on stage didn’t rise to the level of 1) meriting any outrage, and 2) meriting an apology by McCain.
- This guy is an asshole. A real asshole. Thanks to this gal for the appropriate response.
- Ha ha. Jack Kingston goes on Dan Abrams’ show to blast Obama’s lack of flag lapel pin and, to Abrams’ amusement, goes on the air without a flag lapel pin.
- Can you feel some of that GOP love for the troops?
- Aaaargh!
- Clinton will raise about $35 million in February, which means that she’ll have the money necessary to get her message out. She won’t lose from lack of cash. Obama will raise more than that, but regardless, I’m salivating at the numbers we’ll be putting up once we have a ticket and unite behind it. McCain will cry the whole time, especially as that pesky thing called “the law” keeps him from legally raising his own cash.
- The latest delegate count:
The delegate count: The NBC News Hard Count is Obama 1,192, Clinton 1,036. Obama picked up two more superdelegates last night and this morning bringing the superdelegate total to Clinton 254, Obama 203. (Since Feb. 5, Obama has picked up 33; Clinton has lost a net of six.) That’s a grand total of Obama 1,395, Clinton 1,290. So when you include superdelegates into the mix, Obama has a 105-delegate lead.
The numbers vary per news organization, from 81.5 to 106. Most are in that 100+ range.
- Fun website: A wiki of obsolete skills. Stuff like “adjusting rabbit ears on top of a TV”, “having cash”, “reading a paper map”, and “rolling down the car window”. “Spelling”, too.
- Is it too much to ask for basic literacy amongst anti-Obama racists? Apparently so.
- David Broder cried himself to sleep last night, but I think it’s hilarious that no one gave a shit that Bloomberg decided against running for president.
